The Beauty Supply is Closed. What We Gon Do?

When I learned that beauty supplies weren’t on the essential COVID vendor list but liquor stores were, I was pretty bummed. Not that I ever have time to do my hair, but I at least looked forward to my bi-weekly spa visits when I could do a full wash day and just rest.

I’ll be honest, not being able to have alone time has taken a toll on me in the past few weeks. Especially when I spend most of my time trying to respond to the crisis at home, work, in our business and church. It’s been a lot. But I have decided that I refuse to live through social distancing and come out crusty. By his grace, we are coming out stronger!

While staying indoors all day is putting me to the test, I can’t lie, Amazon has become Disney World! I never knew it would be this hard to keep the glow up in 2020, but...

Here are five items I snagged on the low to help maintain my natural-hair-sensitive-skin-melanated self:

1. Cantu Shea Butter Hydrating Leave-in Conditioning Mist

This spray has been great for non-wash days. Not to mention, it has glycerin as a third ingredient, which is perfect for helping me maintain moisture with my low porosity hair. This product hydrates and conditions deprived hair, and is made with pure Shea butter.

2. Cantu Comeback Curl Next Day Curl Revitalizer

SIS! More glycerin = more softness, fewer tangles, and more length retention! A good compliment for days I don’t use my leave-in. I must say, I like this product slightly more than the conditioner.

3. Pacifica Beauty Glow Baby Booster Serum

One day I looked in the mirror after two weeks indoors and my face was dull. I mean I heard of dull skin, but dang!! That’s why I was excited to find this 100% vegan and cruelty-free free serum with glycolic acid (known for removing dead skin) and vitamin c, a natural skin brightener. A girl can’t glow with dull skin!

4. Thayers Alcohol-Free Rose Petal Witch Hazel Facial Mist Toner

I am all about feeling refreshed and moisturized at the moment, this mild formula was excellent for my sensitive skin. It boasts antioxidant properties, reduces irritation, balances skin pH, clears skin, and is formulated with rosewater, witch hazel extract, and filet of aloe vera. It feels great going on and smells amazing.

5. Solimo Epsom Salt Soaking Aid, Lavender Scented

The stress is too much in these streets!! This is why I am faithfully soaking in some Epsom Salt to help soothe achy muscles and get some good minerals in my body. With the door locked. And candles burning. Thank you.
